Oh no!
The fender is like half the car to begin with. This is not small lol

That’s accurate.

I saw this one today, the ad notes “Exterior has some scratches and minor dings on doors.”
![]() 03/18/2019 at 15:47 |
|
at that price point I consider it a win to have all of the doors.

I thought you were supposed to stick a novelty sized bandaid sticker on it. Or write OW! in sharpie.

Poor thing is rough! I feel for it!
Luckily parts are super cheap and plentiful! :) If you didn’t care about color, finding a bumper cover, fender and headlight would be a dawdle at a local pick and pull yard.
Removing that bumper cover isn’t hard at all and I imagine the fender’s not too bad either. The headlight is 2-3 bolts if memory serves, pretty easily accessible. I’ve replaced the headlight on that side on mine before, and had the bumper cover off this past year to install factory-style fog lights :)
Looking for a new DD or just happened to notice this one while surfing? If it’s mechanically sound I can attest to their robustness even if they are cheap cars!

The pictures are pretty good though. You can definitely see a bunch of damage.

That dent? It’s for aerodynamics, pushes the air away from the body so it doesn’t stick.

Looks like it was just washed also.

If I’m not mistaken the fenders are in fine shape but that front bumper cover is fucked.

Looking for a first car for my daughter.
There’s a pretty nice looking sedan: https://maine.craigslist.org/cto/d/scarborough-2003-hyundai-accent/6832871114.html

For an 11 year old car with 190,000 miles selling for $1900, having some dings like that is something I would expect.
In my opinion though, this car is overpriced by at least $900.

Oh for sure. I just think it’s funny that they don’t mention the mangled bumper cover.

My takeaway is that it’s an honest ad with some poor word choices.

How the hell do people do this much damage to their cars?! Much less just leave it like that?!

My sister insisted I find a car for my niece for her 16t h birthday. I en ded up finding a 2005 Accord with 120k miles on it. It h ad a few scratches, the front bumper had a small crack a nd missing platic trim piece where a fog light would be if you bought the highest trim. Other than that it was in good shape and had been regularly s erviced at the dealer.
My sister got home with the car, and asked i f i noticed the front bum per damage. Of course I said . She was upset saying had she known, she would of got it fixed before surprising my neice with it for her birthday. I tol d her she would be wasting her money, and not to worry about it, she’s a new driver. 2 weeks later my neice pulled into a parking spot with a 7" curb , heard t he crunch, put it in reverse and ripped the whole bumper off. 1 year later and the whole car has dings and scratches all over it. Moral of the story, don’t get a 16 yr old anything too nice. I could of spent a lot more time ( and more of my sisters money) finding a minty used Accord, but today it would look the same as th e one she has.

As an owner of a 2009 Accent hatch (the MC generation - 2006-2010), feel free to ask me any questions about those if you go to consider one for her
! :)
I don’t know a lot about the prior generation, but they are fairly reliable cars, so I don’t think she’d have much trouble with it that one you just linked!
